FM Youth Soccer Concussion Protocol
Concussions in youth soccer are not to be taken lightly. Once a head, neck or back injury happens during play, the injured player needs to be evaluated.
If the player is unconcious, call 911 immediately.
If the player suffered a head, neck or back injury, and is down on the field of play but conscious, the player needs to come off the field to be evaluated for at least 5 minutes on the sideline. There is no exception to this rule. Disciplinary action will be taken to coaches that do not abide by our concussion protocol.
If there are any signs of a possible concussion, the player should not return to the game and is advised to seek medical attention.
